Lamb Insurance Services has an exciting opportunity for a suitable candidate to gain valuable experience as a Loss Control Associate in our New York City office. Summary

The position of Risk Management Safety Specialist is an essential job within the Claims & Loss Control Department, responsible for providing clients and agents with key information designed to make their operations safer and more efficient by using and promoting all of the Risk Management services, as well as keeping Account Managers informed with the most up-to-date information regarding the clients.

Job Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage all aspects of on-site Risk Management/ Assessments/Surveys for assigned/ designated clients.

Review and analysis of client/account exposures and communication of findings in conjunction with the Head of Loss Control, assigned Claims Advocate and Account Manager.

Communication with Insureds

Reviewing completed surveys

Analyzing survey information to generate detailed Recommendation Reports

Conducting follow ups to recommendations

Conduct risk management studies/assessments as required

Promote and provide additional risk management services as identified and appropriate

Assist with information analysis and the development of new risk management resources and/or services as needed under the direction of the Head of Loss Control and Senior Management.

Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, Producers, Account Managers and Claim Advocates.

Oversee and/or attend special Lamb events or attend trade shows.

Report to and communicate as required with the Head of Loss Control.

Represent the Loss Control Department as required

Perform other duties as required or directed

Desired Skills/Experience

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience with an Insurer and/or a Safety or Loss Control Services Organization with a complete understanding of Loss Control & Risk Management best practices including the assessment/identification of workplace and 3rd party risk and exposure.

Excellent knowledge of computers in a window-based environment required with an intermediate or expert level use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to pay attention to details, good time-management skills, and organizational skills are necessary

 


Ability to work independently and in a team environment to manage priorities of work, maintaining required production levels and ability to comply with accepted practices and guidelines

Meet expectations for attendance, punctuality, and ability to sit for extended periods of time

This position may require up to approximately 50% travel and 20% overnight travel

 


Education

High School diploma required

Bachelor's degree or college level insurance classes preferred
